Bristol Half Marathon

Tim Hyatt reports:

I completed the much improved Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday 14th September.

The organisation is so much better than previously, for the first time the runners went off in 2 waves, half an hour apart. Additionally the route has changed, so that you run out along the River Avon and under the Clifton Suspension Bridge first, rather than round the City streets. This means the runners spread out so much more quickly than in previous years.

The only downside is that the last mile has a couple of nice hills to test the legs, as well as a few hundred yards of cobbles. Just what you need after an hour and a half! That being said the changes are a definite improvement, and would now recommend the race which wasn't the case previously.

It's a predominantly flat and fairly fast course, and I finished in 1:31:37 (three and a half mins off my PB). Placing was 566th out of 9681 finishers.

Unfortunately who ever had entered my information into the results page obviously couldn't read my writing, as apparently I represented the "Saltford Stragglers"!
