Methlick Duathlon

Tim Hyatt reports:

The Methlick Duathlon took place on Sunday. Methlick is a village about an hour from Aberdeen, just over 550 miles north of Saffron Walden. The countryside is stunning, snow capped mountains in the distance and brilliant sunshine throughout.

The duathlon is fairly short distances: 5k run - 18k bike - 3k run. The first run goes through some great woodland on fairly solid tracks, the bike route takes in some good climbs particularly in the first half. However the best is saved to last, the final 3k run is an out and back, however the out is all up a seriously steep hill!

I finished in 67mins 16 secs, 24th out of 77 competitors. Amazingly for an event so small, there was even chip timing!
