Shalford Skyline - 7.77 miles, 500' ascent Gavin Long reports: Another excellent Essex trail race. This time it was an evening run which incorporated 500’ of ascent within 7.77 miles. Although the official distance was 7.77 miles, Paul and I managed to add an extra mile due to a couple of navigational errors. It was a tough course with several overgrown footpaths. The finish line was at The George pub, where we arrived scratched and stung, but the discomfort was instantly reduced by our beer voucher and news that the beer festival brews were all being sold off at £ 1.00 per pint. A fantastic way to spend a summers evening.
