North Downs 30k

Gavin Long reports:

An excellently organised race with well-stocked water stations, plenty of marshals and lots of post-run freebies (gels, t-shirt, cakes, fruit, water, massage etc).

A beautiful route took us through forests and poppy fields across the undulating Kent downs. I witnessed a running master class by Steve, as he knocked nearly 15 minutes off his PB (set on the same course a couple of years ago). It was my last long run before July’s Alpine marathon, so 2:45 was ideal pace. I had been a bit complacent with my approach to the race and suffered in the final couple of kilometres, re-aggravating a calf injury.

I would certainly recommend this race for next year.
