Garden City 10m

Janet Bradshaw reports:

I had read mixed reviews about this race on Runner's World, and so wasn't sure what to expect. Parking isn't available at the race location, and so its best to turn up early if you want to park near to the event (in the surrounding roads).

The race itself is not the most picturesque, being 2 laps mainly around housing estates and industrial units. I lost count of the number of times we ran under subways, which meant lots of ups and downs. It was also very twisty course. However the advantage of two laps was that you passed water stations 4 times.

All the marshalls were very encouraging, and a really nice touch was that they announced your name as you went over the finish line. Excellent food at the end.

All in all, if you need a ten mile race, this is one I would recommend. It is so well organized, and with chip timing too!
