RAF Honington Inter-Services 10k

Tim Hyatt reports:

RAF Honington hosted the inter-services 10K on September 3rd. The race is run mid-afternoon and is organised with the military precision you would expect!

They open the race up for civilians to enter and I would thoroughly recommend it. It's a fast and predominantly flat course. It must have been, as I knocked a minute off my PB!

The race is competitive, with real rivalry between the RAF and the Army. The standard is pretty high too, the winning RAF runner was home in sub 32 mins - and I thought I did well!

I finished 81st out of 345 runners in 42.09. In the MV40 I was 6th, the 1st civilian home in that age group, beaten by 5 RAF runners. Great value race, you're made to feel very welcome, T-shirts, well marshalled, plenty of drinks stations, and free cake at the end - all for £8.
