Essex Way Relay - Stage 3 - 9.5m

6 September 2009

Paul Burgess reports:

The Essex Way Relay is a 10 stage trail race, covering the 82 miles between Epping and Harwich.

It's a wonderful event, with a very relaxed atmosphere. No names are taken, and no times given, you just score points for your team, according to your finishing position.

I ran the third leg from Good Easter to Little Leighs, as a guest of the very friendly people at Mid Essex Casuals. It was a fast and enjoyable leg, mainly on footpaths, bridleways and field edges. The route instructions were really easy to follow, and took us through Pleshey, across the deer park at Great Waltham, through Chatham Green, and finally down to the church at Little Leighs.
