Hinckley Half Marathon

10 May 2009

Janet Lipski reports:

Nicely undulating (if there's such a thing) course through pretty Leicestershire countryside, I would do this race again (preferably not having already run two championship races the week before).

The course has apparently been improved for speed and safety, which is probaby why I ran the first nine miles in one hour 5 mins. That, and starting off too quickly, ensured that I went rapidly downhill (so to speak) during the second half of the race.

Sunny weather with a nice cool breeze made for almost perfect running conditions. Good family day out too with a bouncy castle (I didn't have the energy) and a lake, so lots of picnickers around.
